NEPLAN | Gas / Water / Heating / Cooling
NEPLAN Gas, NEPLAN Water and NEPLAN Heating/Cooling is a software tool to analyze, plan, optimize and simulate networks. The user-friendly graphical interface allows the user to perform study cases very efficiently.
The customizable software has a modular concept and covers all aspects relevant and useful for the calculation of Gas, Water, Heating/Cooling and Integrated Energy networks. NEPLAN is the only tool on the market that allows the user to simulate electricity, gas, water and heating networks simultaneously. This feature enables the User to model any interaction between those networks.
The modules for pipeline calculation have in general the following characteristics:
- Pipeline network representation with nodes and connecting elements, such as pipes, valves, pumps, heat exchangers etc.
- Calculation of huge networks
- Thermo-hydraulic model for each element
- Advanced pump and valve models, allowing pressure, flow rate and pressure drop regulation at any node or element
- Automatic control of pumps and valves (pressure, flow rate, characteristic curves)
- Modelling of additional pressure losses (e.g. bends, junctions)
- Modelling of temperature dependent loads
- Libraries can be created for each element type
- Network data can be updated with changed library data and vice versa
NEPLAN has a client-server architecture and is able to run in a multi-user environment with a common SQL-database. This facilitates team working, both within the same business entity as well as with sharing projects between different departments or companies. An overview of the software is given here

NEPLAN has long-term experience in importing GIS data. The software has a strong support for this type of data and also for the visualisation of maps.
Technical Databases
To be interoperable with other systems, NEPLAN offers several ways to export, import and access data.
Water
